I am truly ruled by my right brain... I don't make lists, I see several possible routes to a desired outcome, I hate following directions, and my eyes completely glaze over at the mere thought of reading a technical manual (like the ones that come with all my exotic cameras and electronic gizmos). So I offer anyone who happens upon this page the opportunity to chart your own course and see what side of your brain generally decides your future! Enjoy!

Who knew back then that winning the house and the senate would mean so little, and that this congress would squander so many opportunities to set things right?!?
A POX ON BOTH YOUR HOUSES!!!!

Gratitude and other Imponderables
It's a simple thing, really. And maybe we don't think of it top of mind because we are so busy doing... whatever. My life was perculating along happily, and I was doing the full-tilt boogie getting my new house all spiffed, and still keep tabs on friends who were hurting for any number of reasons.
I always feel blessed, regardless of what the day deals out, but that's alot easier when I am "well." I got some kind of infection earlier this week, and it didnt take much to bring me literally to my knees. And then I had a much clearer appreciation for what friends are dealing with who have more serious health issues than I do. And I marveled at how they cope!
Helen, my friend with breast cancer, dug deep and drove herself to the hospital this week to have another very painful procedure, because her ungrateful bitch of a daughter "had to work, and besides, she called me selfish." What kind of children are we raising ? And where is her gratitude or concern for the wellbeing of a woman who sacrificed so she could "have everything" including a college education?!
I was also humbled by how quickly my new neighbors have adopted me... making sure to invite me over for meals or coffee, include me when they have dinners out. When they realized they hadnt seen me outside the day I was sick in bed, Bev called and rushed a quart of juice over, to keep me hydrated. "Call any time and we'll take you to the hospital if you need to go. Dont try and drive yourself!" And they have me by about 25-30 years!
So here I am, grateful for this place, for new friends and old friends, for good health even when it fails me, for good sense. And especially for the realization that "normal," can be pretty damn good, considering the alternatives.
